1983   DNS - Domain Name System created at University of Wisconsin
February 1983   MS-DOS 2.0 is released
November 1985   Windows 1.01 is released
August 1986   Windows 1.03 is released, adds support for MS-DOS 3.2
April 1987   Windows 1.04 is released, adds support for IBM PS/2
November 1987   Windows 2.02 is released
April 1988   Microsoft Windows/286 and Windows/386 version 2.10 released. Optimized for Intel 286
March 1989   Microsoft Windows/286 and Windows/386 version 2.11 released

August 2004   Windows XP SP-2 is released; huge SP with some glitches in it
July 2005   Microsoft announces it's next operating system, codenamed "Longhorn" will be named Windows Vista
January 2007   Windows Vista is released
